I am so super excited for the new season and the new show! I hope you are excited too! Please, you and your parents look around the website to check things out. Talk about the commitment you are making to our team. It takes a lot of physical activity and outside practice. It will push you! We will laugh and cry this season and have tons of fun!

Miss. Jamie Henson
Jamie Henson is the Assistant Director of the BHS Guard Program.
Miss. Amanda Miller
Amanda Miller is the Assistant Director of the BHS Guard Program. She is a Biology Major and will be applying to graduate schools in the near future to become an occupational therapist, focusing on patients with Alzheimer's disease.
Ms. Miller began her guard career in 2004, spinning on the Varsity Weapon line at Hickman Mills High School. During her tenure at HMHS she received numerous awards including best field auxiliary at Carrolton Band Day and several honorable mentions from MCCGA Circuit Judges. After a color guard hiatus, Amanda returned to the guard community in 2012 as Belton High's Assistant Coach. While at BHS, her Rifle and Flag choreography has received high praise from several festivals, including the KU Central States Festival.

Mr. Matthew Uppman
Matthew Uppman is Director of Belton’s Guard Programs. He has a Bachelors of Arts in Education with emphasis in Elementary and Special Education from Graceland University. He is currently the Site Director for a LINC Program in the Kansas City, MO School District.
Mr. Uppman has been in the guard world since his freshman year of high school. In 2007, he was a Gold Medalist in the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association's Scholastic C Division. From 2009 to 2011, he performed with Synchronicity Winter Guard and has three Mid-Continent Independent A Medals. In 2009, Synchronicity went to Semi-finals in the Winter Guard International World Championships. In 2012, Matt preformed with Panache Winter Guard. During this season the team not only was promoted from Regional Class to Independent Class, they were awarded Silver Medals at Circuit Championships. In the 2014 season, Mr. Uppman ended his performing career and aged-out with Synchronicity. Mr. Uppman has had several students go on to preform with higher level guard programs. Previously he has been the Head Flag and Pom Coach at Warford Elementary School and the Assistant Color and Winter Guard Director at Lawson High School. Mr. Uppman would like to thank

Miss. Alyssa Drewel
Alyssa Drewel is the newest addition to the Belton Guard Staff. She is currently working as a Sell-lebrity at Old Navy.
Ms. Drewel began her guard career in 2009 at Lee's Summit West High School. She became captain for the 2012/13 fall and winter seasons. In 2013, she was a Gold Medalist in the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association's Regional A Division. For the Winter 2014 season she was an assistant coach for the Summit Lakes Middle School Guard and the Lee's Summit West High School Guard. In addition, she made her Independent A performing debut with Synchronicity Winter Guard, performing in their fan-favored show "Stand Up" |
